The purpose of this page is to calculate the total installed cost and Annual Energy Output (AEO) produced by any turbine selected from the list below and generate an economic analysis in an organized report format. The total installed costs account for all necessary expenditures prior to the operation of a turbine on the owner's property. Values may be adjusted as more accurate prices are collected from a dealer's sales agreement. The user has the option to select either using Truewind (Virginia Wind Map) data or anemometer data (measured on-site), depending on the availability and quality of anemometer data. If anemometer data is used then the user must specify the wind speed in the space provided, otherwise he/she can use the speed provided by the wind map.

If you came from the wind map, your wind speed, Weibull K value, and site elevation will already be inputted. If you didn't, please input them now.

Please choose a turbine(s), and then click on the 'Submit Turbine Info' command button to view its information. If you would like to use a tower height different from the default specified from the manufacturer, you may input the desired height (in feet) and then choose the option "Yes" under "Use Desired Height?" (But you must click on "Submit Turbine Info" again to incorporate the change). You can click on any of the 'See Info' command buttons to understand more about the terminology for a particular variable. Choose a turbine from the summary table, check its option button, and click on the Submit for Report command button. Then click on the See Report button to see the results presented in one consolidated summary report. Any of the input values may be altered by the user at any time during the analysis.
